The Story .....
It was the summer of 2000; Alicia was home from Seattle University and needed a place to swim during the summer. A friend from Seattle U, Keith Mazzuco swam in California (at Los Altos Mountain View) and offered Alicia a place to swim for the summer, who would have known that Alicia and Ben would meet and know what was to follow.
A summer flew by; no sparks flew between the two. Alicia was a "flake" according to Ben. Ben was "that crazy friend of Keith's" according to Alicia. They hung out occasionally, but the time just wasn't right.
In the winter of 2003, their paths would once again cross and of course at the pool! Alicia was in graduate school at San Francisco State and Ben was finishing up at Cal Poly. Who knew that after a swim practice and an hour long chat of what was soon to be.
Flash forward 6 years and they are getting married! Of course fitting to them they were engaged at the pool, with their old Coach Jose on deck (Thank you again!). Despite the trend they will not be married at the pool instead at Byington Winery in Los Gatos, California.
